Wilbur Mayfield Jr., 61, of Baskerville, died Sunday, October 4, 2020 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill.

Mr. Mayfield was born in Palmer Springs, Nov. 11, 1958 to Ola Mae Mayfield Martin. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Boydton, and was formerly employed by International Veneer Company in South Hill. Mr. Mayfield was a US Army veteran, serving from 1976 to 1998. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He also loved his dogs, Tilly, Lady and Robo.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted daughters, Chermir Mayfield (Bryant) and Tynesha Mayfield (Jonathan) both of Boydton, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; his mother, Ola Mae Martin; brother, Eddie Martin Jr.; two aunts, Barbara Jean Mayfield and Gracie Durham; two uncles, Lucas and Jimmy Dean Mayfield, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A graveside service was conducted Saturday, Oct. 10, at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Boydton, with Rev. Tyrone Pulliam officiating.
