Four days, three fatal crashes

A Clarksville teen died Friday in Buffalo Junction wreck, the first of three deadly car crashes in Mecklenburg County in the past week.

William Edward Clark, 95, widower of Rothwell Hodges Clark, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Chase City Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Clark was born Nov. 4, 1915 to the late William Baker and Rosa Dalton Clark. He was a graduate of Chase City High School and was a retired farmer and school bus driver.

Mr. Clark is survived by his daughters, Louise C. Weston of Red Oak, and Dorothy Bunn of Clarksville and his brother, Garnett Clark of Chase City. His grandchildren, Dale Weston, Dennis Weston, Lisa Elsaesser, Kim Smith, Brian Bunn and eight great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lynwood Clark, grandson, Glenn Weston and great granddaughter, Ashley Brook Smith.

A member of Ephesus United Methodist Church, graveside funeral services were held there Saturday with the Rev. Randy Baisey officiating.

The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
