Obituaries

William Lloyd Davis

William Lloyd Davis, 67, of 1106 Grove Avenue, South Boston, died Monday, May 13, 2013. He was born in Halifax County on April 15, 1946 to the late Albert Davis and the late Alice Newby Davis. Mr. Davis was a painter and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two sisters, Bertha Martin and Margie Jones, both of South Boston; one brother, Albert Davis of South Boston; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe Davis and Lewis Davis, and four sisters, Elsie Hamm, Lavania Yancey, Lossie Choplin, and Inez Morris.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Don Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Bertha Martin, 1108 Wilborn Avenue, South Boston.
