Willie Lee Wade, Sr., 85, of Clover, died Sunday, July 7, 2019. He was born in Halifax County on Dec. 23, 1933, son of the late George T. Wade and the late Adeline Hazelwood Wade. He was married to the late Bernice Newcomb Wade, was a member of Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World.

Mr. Wade is survived by his son, Willie L. “Billy” Wade Jr. and wife Arlene of Crystal Hill; grandchildren, Jarrett C. Wade of Crystal Hill and Jordan Wade Matlok and husband Christian of Germany; great-grandchild, Liam Matlok of Germany; sister, Marion Hamlett and husband Clarence of Drakes Branch; son-in-law, Cecil Crews.

His daughter, Sandra W. Crews and siblings, Chester Wade, Neddie Wade, Alene Seamster, Annie Newcomb, Tucker Wade and Minnie Lloyd, preceded him in death.

A funeral was held Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Pizzeck officiating. Burial followed in Clover Cemetery.

The family received friends Tuesday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home.
