Willie Mack Womack

Willie Mack Womack, 85, of 1236 Waltman Trail, Vernon Hill, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on June 1, 1928, son of the late Jossie Womack was a member of New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church.

Mr. Womack is survived by one daughter, Rose Mary Edmonds of Bridgeport, Conn., one grandchild; three brothers, Onzie Womack of Vernon Hill, Frank B. Womack of New York and Willie L. Womack of South Boston; five sisters, Gladys Barksdale of Nathalie, Alice Holt of Landover, Md., Mable Carrington of Halifax, Dorothy Ann Fuller of Charlotte, N.C., and Katie Mae Scurry of Philadelphia, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roosevelt Womack and Flentol Womack and one sister, Wilsie Powell.

A funeral will be held Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. at New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church with Suffragan Bishop Leonia Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at his home, 1236 Waltman Trail, Vernon Hill.
