Winfred James Stallings, 87, of South Boston, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020. He was born in Wallace, N.C., on April 18, 1932, son of the late James Malcolm Stallings and the late Clydia Winders Stallings. He was married to Patty Hazelwood Stallings, who survives, was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Stallings is survived by his wife, Patty H. Stallings of South Boston; his children, Debra Stallings Seifer and husband Scott of Carolina Beach, N.C., Douglas James Stallings and wife Billie of Franklin, N.C.; two grandchildren, Annelise Seifer of Arlington and Austin Gregory of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one great-grandchild, Wren Seifer of Arlington; step-children, Deborah Blanks and husband Wayne of Clover, Roger Cassada of Clover; number of step-grandchildren and families; siblings, Lucille Kelly of Apex, N.C., Shirley Lewter and husband Billy of Apex, N.C. and Richard Stallings of Durham, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Durham Stallings, one brother and two sisters.

Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. at Clover Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
