Winfrey “Alvin” Conner Jr. of 1098 Bill Tuck Highway, South Boston died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at his home. Born in Halifax County on December 20, 1984, he was 25 at the time of his death and was the son of Winfrey A. Conner Sr. and Deborah C. Conner. He was married to Shanna Sulter Conner and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Mr. Conner is survived by his wife of the home, his parents, Debra C. Conner of South Boston and Winfrey Conner Sr. and Marsha of Halifax, one sister, Bobbie Jo Conner of South Boston, a step-sister, Michelle Brame of Halifax, his grandmother, Mildred Jones of South Boston and one nephew, Damion Conner of South Boston and a number of aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Bobby Jones and Overton Clay and his grandmother, Ethel Conner.

A memorial service for Mr. Conner will be held Friday, June 18 at 6 p.m. at the home of Kathy and Ronnie Smith, 7002 Huell Matthews Highway, Alton with the Rev. Don Bryant officiating.
