SoVaNow.com / February 14, 2013Dear Viewpoint:
We have just completed the biggest Bland Contest in memory. We are overcome with positive comments about it. On behalf of the South Boston Lions Club, and for myself personally, I want to thank Mr. Chris Jones, Artistic Director of The Prizery; Mr. Ernelle Bellamy, Technical Director at The Prizery; Mrs. Betty Woods of The Prizery; Mr. Richard Banks, Miss Elvira Green, Dr. Charles Kinzer, and Mrs. Sally Sizemore Muller, judges; both newspapers for their gracious and excellent coverage; music teachers too numerous to mention; Ms. Barbara Cage and Ms. Margaret Moorefield, owners of the AAA 3-Diamond-rated Bistro 1888; Atlantic Medical Supply; Berry Hill Health and Rehab Center; Lions too numerous to mention; contestants; parents; accompanists; and members of the audience for their contributions.
Again, thank you to the community for your devotion to music and youth and for your assistance to the South Boston Lions Club.
Yours in Lionism,
