A vote for Freshour

SoVaNow.com / September 26, 2013

Dear Viewpoint:

My name is Carol Foster and I am writing to express my support for Mike Freshour as Commonwealth’s Attorney. I first met Mike in 2004 when his family joined First Presbyterian Church. Since then I have had the pleasure of seeing him grow as a church member, father, attorney and prosecutor.

Mike is an experienced attorney. He has over thirteen years of trial experience with ten years specifically as a prosecutor. He is a dedicated public servant for Halifax County and works hard for our county.

Since becoming Commonwealth’s Attorney he has put drug dealers, violent offenders, and repeat offenders in jail. He has reduced the number of plea agreements and pushed for harsher sentences. He is a tough, fair, and experienced prosecutor and exactly who I want as my Commonwealth’s Attorney.

Over the years I have had discussions with Mike about his goals and hopes for Halifax County, and they are similar to the goals we all have - to make Halifax County a safer place to raise our families.

Mike on Nov. 5 and I hope he has yours too.

Sincerely,
Carol A. Foster
