Halifax County school job fair draws healthy turnout

Halifax County jobless rate rises to 5.2 percent in January

Comets open with 8-1 win over Appomattox

Compelled to comment / April 02, 2015

Dear Viewpoint:

After reading the report in Monday’s News & Record concerning the remarks made by Supervisor Bank to a gathering of realtors from Halifax and other nearby counties, I am compelled to comment on Supervisor Bank’s remarks.

His comments are in no way indicative of my personal outlook of what Halifax County is and could be, and he certainly was not speaking officially for the Halifax Board of Supervisors.

As a member of the Board of Supervisors my vision of this county is much broader and I will do everything I can to make this county a great place to work, live and raise a family.

Contrary to Supervisor Bank’s comments, when I campaigned for the office of Supervisor I spoke of the many positives that we have here in Halifax County. We have many agencies that do an outstanding job, many times, with minimal resources. Our county has been blessed to have good people in leadership positions.

Yes, we have many challenges right now in the county for a number of reasons, but those of us who believe in Halifax County are working publically and privately to overcome these obstacles.

Larry Giordano, Supervisor ED-6
