Joyous Jubilee

SoVaNow.com / October 24, 2012
Dear Viewpoint:

What a wonderful Autumn Jubilee! The Chase City Chamber of Commerce celebrated their 14th Jubilee on October 14 with lots of fun, food, games and fellowship! I would like to personally thank a few people that helped make this community wide event such a success. Concord Baptist’s Stew Masters – Buck Davis and William Lowrance; Chamber members and friends that helped with peeling of onions and potatoes – Charley Ramsey, Joan Wilson, Elsie, Michelle, and Donna. Lynn Mills for the use of his parking lot, Guy Seate for his water, Ashley Rutledge for all that she does; Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative for their continued support of Chase City and their employees – Brian Mosier, Brian Morris, Debbie Winn and Scott Winn; and Chase City Produce and J.T. Parsons for the pumpkins used for the Pumpkin Chunkin’ contest. That was really a lot of fun! Patricia Burton for the Hula Hoop Contest, Hardees and Cathy Panther for hosting the Corn Hole Tournament and Joseph Epps as our floater and race coordinator! We were blessed with many sponsors this year and supporters. Chase City Town Shop employees, Two Rice and Ray Parrish for their help. Kenneth Johnson from the Police Department, First Citizens for the use of their parking lot for the Ronnie Newcomb Ban and other activities held there. All of our vendors that came and supported our event. A special thank you to all the Cruz In supporters and especially Debbie Rickman for manning the cones and directing the traffic.

Our sponsors for this event indeed need to be mentioned: Carter Bank and Trust, Citizens Community Bank, Benchmark, First Citizens Bank, Farmer’s Foods, Mecklenburg Electric, Halifax Regional Health Center, Richard’s Pharmacy, Crutchfield and Associates, Castles, Farm Bureau, Chase City Health and Rehab, 3 WD 107.7; Rewind 101.9, The Mecklenburg Sun and The News Progress. We appreciate your continued support throughout the year in all of our events.

A very special thank you for all the hard work he has done for the Chamber and all of their events – Braxton Rutledge our Executor Director. He goes way beyond all expectations in everything he does for Chase City. We are very fortunate to have him. Our biggest gratitude goes to our wonderful citizens and friends that came out to have a fun filled day and supported our 14th Annual Jubilee!

Thank you,
Lisa Gillispie
Chamber President
