So easy to help

SoVaNow.com / February 27, 2013
Dear Viewpoint,

I volunteer at the Clarksville Ruritan Thrift Shop. One Saturday a man stopped in and asked to volunteer. After my fellow volunteers and I stopped cheering we invited our “new” friend to our monthly dinner meeting. The man said he wasn’t “sure” he actually wanted to join. He just wanted to help out a little.

Well, the man did come to our meeting and brought his wife. After eating some good food and listening to what the Ruritans do for Clarksville, he and his wife filled out membership applications and will become new Ruritans.

That’s how easy it is to become a Clarksville Ruritan. Just stop by the Thrift Shop or call (919) 215-9502 to volunteer.

Hope to see you soon,
Mary Burke
