The Bluestone varsity girls softball team played a couple of crucial district games last week, losing one and winning one, to stay in the thick of the James River District race.

Teammates on the Park View varsity softball team gather at the plate to congratulate Lindsey Townsend after she hit an over-the-fence home run in action against Greensville Tuesday. Townsend’s blast keyed a four-run fifth inning as Park View went on to a 9-1 win over the Lady Eagles. In addition to the homer, Townsend stroked two doubles and scored three times. Amanda Roberts also had a big game with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.
