Diamond Fever 14U win IFA Summer World Series championship

The Diamond Fever 14U Fastpitch Sofball Team won the IFA Summer World Series Championship held in Burlington, N.C., July 28 - 31.  From left, first row, Kimmie Meadows, Bekah Burner, Peyton Myers, and Courtney Yarbrough.  Second row, Jamie Woods, Holly Eckard, Kelsey Meadows, Megan Puckett, Miyanna Ross, Courtney Smithers, and Kasey Wallace.  Third row, assistant coach, Randy Yarbrough, head coach Russell Eckard, and assistant coach Brian Meadows. Hodgin joins Averett football staff

Former HCHS head football coach Stan Hodgin comes to Averett after coaching the Comets the past five seasons, the final three as head coach. Prior to his time at Halifax County, Hodgin was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for 13 seasons at Person County High School in Roxboro, N.C.

Dixie Boys win first game
