Scottsburg falls short in state action

SPORTSMANSHIP WINNERS – The Scottsburg Dixie Youth majors won the ‘Charlie Moorefield Sportsmanship award’ at the 53rd annual Dixie Youth majors state tournament. Charlotte County won the state title, and there was a tie for the Dude Austin Batting Champion award, as Josh Jones of Charlotte and Arthur Watts of Scottsburg tied with a .733 batting average. Charlotte County claimed the state Dixie Youth Majors title with a 6-4 win over Dinwiddie Tuesday night. Meanwhile, Scottsburg saw its run end with a 16-10 loss to Dinwiddie on Monday night.
