There are new themes, staff members and schemes to help the Halifax County High School varsity football program this fall, and the Comets have enjoyed an encouraging start, at least in the preseason.

Golf used to be a sport that Halifax County High School owned, at least at the district level, and the program was so strong that repeat state tournament appearances were routine.
