South Boston/Halifax County YMCA Sea Serpents to dedicate season to Osborne

South Boston News
The YMCA presents a plaque dedicating swim team season in memory of Cabell Osborne. Presenting the plaque, from left, coach Jeanette Abbott, Dennis Osborne and Mary Archer (Cabell’s parents), YMCA CEO Marcus Hargrave, and Cabell’s aunt Ms. K. Booker.
Cabell left a lasting memory on the YMCA staff and members. “I had the distinct pleasure of knowing and coaching Cabell at the YMCA in the early 90’s. He was a very dedicated, loyal, and determined young man. Cabell was always early to practice, practiced hard, and consistently tried to get it right. His disposition never changed because he was always the same. Cabell never met a stranger and he was always smiling. He will definitely be missed.” said swim team coach Jeanette Abbott.
