Century Link/Mental Health of America of Halifax County Annual golf tournament is scheduled for Friday, July 30, at Green’s Folly. The tournament will have shotgun start with tee-off times at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will be played in a captain’s choice format with four-person teams. Mecklenburg traveled to C.H. Friend Field as the defending state champions in Dixie Majors’ baseball, but the visitors from Lake Country came up short in an electrifying game with border rival Halifax County/South Boston Saturday night.
