South Hill Y hosts Autumn Classic run

The South Hill YMCA will hold its annual Autumn Classic 5K/10K run on Saturday, Oct. 30 with the youth run beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the 5k and 10k runs following at 9:00 a.m.

American heroes find peace at The Cove

COVE COMPETITION – Wounded Warriors and American heroes participated in three types of outdoor events, including an archery competition Fridayat the Cove in an event hosted by the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation. Marine Corps veteran Tom Eberhardt, now with Bow Tech, assists R.J. Gentry, a military contractor and Kenbridge businessman and a part of a military family.
The serenity of the Cove has provided an appropriate setting for a very deserving group of American veterans to experience more than an afternoon of outdoor sports.

Drivers converging on SBS Saturday

The region’s top NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car drivers are expected to be on hand for the NASCAR Late Model 300, which will get the green flag at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
