The Halifax County High School cheerleaders will hold their cheer exhibition tonight in the Comet gym beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is a minimum donation of $2. There will be exhibitions by the competition team, the varsity and jayvee sideline squads, Head Over Heels and the WGR performance team.

Justin Johnson left little room for error, but his regular season ending win clinched his 2009 NASCAR late model track title at South Boston Speedway Saturday night. “I never really ran for a track championship until last year. It means a lot, for it to come at South Boston Speedway, for all the people who have won there and won championships,” said Johnson.
