Lions advance to title game

The HCMS baseball team advanced to the championship game of the Southside Middle School tournament against Powhatan today. The Lions cruised past Central, 14-4, on Tuesday and travel to Powhatan today to settle the tournament title.

Jayvees get past GW

The HCHS jayvee baseball team edged GW-Danville, 5-4, in eight innings Tuesday. Halifax is 10-4 overall and 6-1 in the district.

Power volleyball signups under way

Team registration is now open for Women’s Power Volleyball. The Halifax County Recreation Department has opened team registration for the 2009 Power Volleyball Season. This program is a fairly high skilled program much like scholastic team play. Teams must contact the Halifax County Recreation Department to register for practice slots.
