Game day gets bigger

The game day experience just got bigger for Wahoo fans this fall at Scott Stadium and other University of Virginia athletic venues. Part of a $2.4 million project that installed video boards at Klockner Stadium (soccer, lacrosse) and Davenport Field (baseball) is highlighted by a new jumbotron videoboard for football games at Scott beginning with the Sept. 5 season-opener against William & Mary.

Poindexter moves to other side of ball

When Al Groh reshuffled his Virginia coaching staff, his decision to move running backs coach Anthony Poindexter to the other side of the football was hailed by the program’s faithful. As any Wahoo worth his salt could tell you, Poindexter was one of the all-time greatest players to wear the orange and blue. A two-time, first team All-American safety, he was the fiercest hitter than many ever saw.
