Soccer Chicks fight cancer

The girls soccer team raised over $3000 for the American Cancer Association Relay for Life which took place in Keysville on the SVCC Daniel Campus on Saturday, May 16. Each girl and coach in the program participated in this fundraising event to assist in finding a cure for cancer. The girls felt this was a great organization to help since cancer has hit our soccer family on several occasions. Coach Sid Young was our true inspiration since he is a cancer survivor himself. His shirt read...."My Soccer Chicks Kick Cancer." Emarie Skelton raised the most money with collecting $450. With Jaynee Campbell raising $265 and Jordan Murray raising $226. The team name was "Soccer Chicks Kick Cancer." The team would like to thank Anderson Lawn Care for sponsoring our team and donating the registration fee, as well as, George Brennan for purchasing the t-shirts and decorations for our camp site. While at the event the girls also won the best camp site.
