Halifax County varsity basketball big man Russell White may have an opportunity to earn playing time soon at Bridgewater College. The Generals, part of the ODAC and an NCAA Division III school, had significant losses in the low post this season. White hopes to work hard and make an impact quickly in the ODAC. Bridgewater’s program appears to be on the rise. The Generals finished 15-12 overall last season and reached the ODAC tournament semifinals before losing to Washington and Lee. Bridgewater finished 10-6 in the regular season, the most wins since the 2004-05 season. Don Burgess, the Generals’ coach, is starting his second season.
