Looking for improvement

North Carolina race car driver Justin Tucker is looking for improvement this year in the competitive Pure Stock class at South Boston Speedway. “My goals are this year are to keep my nose (clean), my car in one piece, finish in the top three every race, and bring home a championship,” said Tucker.

Anderson moves up

Bruce Anderson hopes to make an impression while racing in the tough NASCAR late model division at South Boston Speedway, even if he is not competing full-time here in 2009. “We’re looking at this year as a learning experience, and trying to get some seat time and earn some respect from those guys who’ve been doing it a while,” said Anderson. “Our goal is to go out there and run as many laps as we can, and be there at the end and try to work off some top ten finishes and possibly some top five finishes,” said Anderson, who finished second last season in the final limited sportsman points at the local track.

Jeb Burton optimistic

Local driver Jeb Burton has reason for optimism heading into the season opener Saturday at South Boston Speedway. “We’ve been practicing, we’ve been going to the track. We’ve been doing real good, we’ve been fast. We’ve been real consistent, just getting the car ready for (Saturday),” said J. Burton. The 16-year-old driver is looking forward to a full season in limited sportsman at SBS.
