Angels shut out in WS opener

The Virginia champions in Angels X-play Dixie softball had a tough start in World Series play in Atoka, Tenn..

The champions from Halifax County fell 11-0 to the host Atoka squad in Saturday’s opener.

The local all-stars were hoping to stay alive Sunday. Virginia was scheduled to play either Arkansas or Oklahoma in its second game.
