Bagbey named CIAA player of the year

Former Halifax County High School standout Justin Bagbey has added yet more honors to his impressive collection of achievements.

On Tuesday, Bagbey was named the CIAA baseball Player of the Year

Bagbey, of Chowan University, earned the honor after turning in a solid sophomore season. He led the league in homeruns (12) this season and hit at a .463 clip. He has collected 11 doubles and 47 RBI while also posting an impressive .991 fielding percentage. Bagbey was also named to the All-CIAA First Team at first base.
