SoVaNow.com / March 27, 2013
The Bluestone boys soccer team claimed their first win of the season in James River District competition last Wednesday as the Barons blanked Nottoway, 3-0, in Skipwith.

Bluestone (1-1) struck for its first goal in the game’s 15th minute as Austin Howerton scored on a long pass from defender Matt Oberholtzer. In the 25th minute, Matt Gilliland put the Barons ahead 2-0 by scoring on a throw-in.

Howerton scored the Barons’ third goal in the third minute of the second half on an assist by Colin Robles.

The Baron boys are scheduled to return to action today as they travel to Cumberland for their second district match. The game is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
