Ben Franklin Middle School defeated the Halifax County Middle School Lion baseball team, 3-2, in South Boston Tuesday.

The visitors from Rocky Mount tacked on two runs in the first inning and the game-winning run in the sixth.

Halifax scored once in the first inning and one more in the fifth.

Kamron Turbeville cracked a pair of RBI doubles. Christian Midkiff scored both runs in his leadoff spot. He singled twice and was hit by a pitch.

Halifax had seven hits. Kolby Fisher singled with two out in the Lion seventh, but was stranded.
