Bluestone basketball has busy holiday slate / December 26, 2019

The Bluestone varsity boys team played two James River District road games last week and went 1-1. The Barons are 2-4, 2-3 JRD.

The team traveled to Randolph-Henry on Tuesday night and defeated the Statesmen 55-43. Mike Harris posted 19 points in the game. Teammate Nic Abernathy had 15 points and Tywen Hatcher scored nine.

The Barons made the trip to Amelia County on Thursday night and fell to the Raiders 61-50. Again, the offense was led by Harris and Abernathy with 17 and 13 points, respectively.

The varsity Lady Barons hosted Randolph-Henry and Amelia last week. The girls defeated R-H 44-30 but dropped their game to Amelia 44-34. The Lady Barons are now 2-4, 2-3 JRD.

The jayvee boys won both of their district games last week and have improved to 4-2, 4-1 JRD. The squad bested Randolph-Henry 38-30 and Amelia 52-40.

The junior boys are scheduled to return to action on Jan. 3 when they are scheduled to travel to Prince Edward High School.

The jayvee girls are currently 4-2, 3-2 JRD after being the only Bluestone squad to defeat Park View last Friday. The team also won its games against R-H and Amelia, prevailing 38-6 and 35-5, in that order and going 3-0 on the week.
