The Bluestone Lady Barons faced a busy schedule last week as the varsity volleyball girls played three games and went one-for-two.
The Lady Barons opened play last Tuesday with a four-game match with Central of Lunenburg, prevailing 3-1. Central played the Barons extremely close and provided some stiff competition but Bluestone went on to win the match with scores of 25-18, 25-20, 24-26 and 25-14.
Keri Lenhart and Kelsey Thornton had seven aces and three aces, respectively. Thornton also had nine kills in the match. The team totaled 85 assists in the match.

The Lady Barons finished up the week at Appomattox. The match went five games before a winner was declared.
The Barons won the first two games, 25-22 and 25-20. But Appomattox settled in and fought back to claim the next three games and the match.

Although the Lady Barons lost, several players had stellar games — one being Gordon, who recorded 107 assists in the match. Lenhart posted 10 kills and Thornton followed with eight kills.
Jayvees fare better
The JV Lady Barons also played three games during the week and were able to pull out two victories.
