Bluestone jayvees look to improve as season launches / December 04, 2019

The Bluestone jayvee basketball team is looking to rebound from a rocky 2018-19 season as they hope to jump start early action with a win over Central Lunenburg.

Bluestone has looked decent over their two weeks of practice and playing time in scrimmages against Colonial Heights and Sussex Central. Bluestone has a good mix of sophomores and freshman on the squad this season, with both size and a good amount of game experience.

Sophomore Akim Simmons, a 5’8” guard will captain the team. Other sophomore players are Jacob Edmonds (F-6’2”), Jaylen Crawley (C–6’3”), Garrett Allgood (G-5’7”), Trevor Tucker (F–6’2”), and Marcellous Garner (G–5’8”). Freshman players are Kingston Ross (G-5’10”), Koby Alexander (G-5’3”), Charles Duffer (G-5’6”), Sayvon Logan (F-6’0”), Deion Revis (C-6’2”), and Jayson Grier (G-5’6”).

Bluestone will have a couple of sophomore players floating between the varsity and junior squads.

After yesterday’s opener with Lunenburg the team’s next game will be a Dec. 10 road matchup with Buckingham County.
