Bluestone wrestlers compete at Averett this weekend / January 10, 2018
The Bluestone wrestling team will compete in a wrestling invitational hosted by Averett University in Danville on Saturday. The tournament begins at 8 a.m.

Prior to the Christmas break, Bluestone traveled to Heritage High School in Lynchburg Dec. 16 to participate in the Pioneer Duals Invitational. The wrestling team went 2-3 on the weekend for the duals placing seventh as a team.

“Our team wrestled hard against some great competition. As a team we made some major strides forward on and off the mat. I could not be any more proud of how they competed and came together as a team,” said coach Ethan Hayes.

The wrestlers will compete in upcoming invitationals at Person County (N.C.) High School, Chatham, Randolph Henry, and Nottoway to make a busy January. In addition, the Barons will participate in the James River District Championship Jan. 17 at Amelia and will travel to neighboring Halifax Jan. 24.
