South Boston News
Knott / November 21, 2018

Bluestone’s Ashlyn Knott was named to the VHSL All-Region 2A volleyball first team last week.

Knott, who is a junior, was simply magnificent this season for the Barons. She exhibited a good all-around game but was known and respected by opponents for her relentless play at the net.

Knott had 368 kills, 61 blocks, 251 digs, 73 aces and 14 assists this season. Knott was also named the James River District 2018 Volleyball Player of the Year as well as a JRD All-District first team member.

Bluestone earned the top seed going into Region 2A tourney but was upset by No. 9 seed Bruton in the quarterfinal round to end their state title aspirations.

Nottoway’s McKenna Falwell and Goochland’s Trinity Wondering, both representing the JRD, were also named to the Region 2A first team

Poquoson’s Logan Dupis was named Region 2A Player of the Year and her coach Tim Hatok was named Coach of the Year.
