BMS girls soccer opens season with tie

SoVaNow.com / March 14, 2018
The Bluestone Middle School girls soccer team opened their season against Halifax County last week. The non-conference match ended in a 1-1 tie.

Halifax Middle scored first off of a corner kick in the 13th minute of the match. BMS’s Katlyn Abernathy converted on a shot in front of the net right before halftime to even the score.

Due to impending darkness, the second half of the game was shortened to 15 minutes. Despite numerous attempts to score by both teams, the second half remained scoreless as regulation ended.
