Busy week ahead for Bluestone after snow break / January 24, 2018
Following another week of heavy snow and cancelled ballgames, Bluestone returned to the hardwood last night to take on Central of Lunenburg.

Tonight the Barons have a rescheduled home game against Amelia before they close out the week on the road at Nottoway. The boys’ jayvee team will travel with the varsity. Jayvee games begin at 5:30 p.m.

Bluestone is currently ranked fourth in the James River District at 5-3 JRD, 6-7 overall.

Barons hold off Eagles, 56-51

The Bluestone varsity basketball team improved to 5-3 by besting James River District opponent Prince Edward in Farmville last week, 56-51.

Both teams opened with 10-point first quarters. Bluestone moved ahead going to halftime, outpacing the Eagles 13-9 for the 23-19 lead.

Three points separated the teams in the final two periods. Bluestone won the third quarter 14-12 and the fourth, 20-19.
