The Halifax County Chamber of Commerce is holding its seventh annual Fall Classic Tournament Friday.

The one-day tournament will host over 35 teams at the Halifax County Country Club for what is sure to be another close competition. The tournament is in a four-man scramble format with tee times at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“This tournament gives business leaders the opportunity to network with others while promoting their businesses as well,” said Chamber president/CEO Mitzi McCormick. “This year we have fantastic prizes that any participant will be glad to win.”

The tournament will include thousands of dollars in prizes for a ball drop, closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, putting challenge, and two hole-in-one contests. Golfers will have the opportunity to take home a new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, sponsored by Terry Volkswagen Subaru, for a hole-in-one on hole eight or an EZ-Go Golf Cart, sponsored by Bridgeview Carts and Trailers on hole 16.

A new addition to this year’s tournament is a putting challenge sponsored by JE Burton Construction Company. Those making the put will split a cash prize.

Proceeds will support Chamber programs and services, which are tied to supporting a prosperous business climate in Halifax County.
