Clarksville Debs finish play as state runners-up / July 31, 2019
The Clarksville Dixie Debs had a solid run in the Dixie Debs state tournament in Concord last week but fell to the Halifax County Debs in back-to-back games to finish in second place.

Halifax finished 5-1 to win the Virginia championship. The team’s lone loss came at the hands of Clarksville in a 19-14 decision in game three. Clarksville was undefeated going into the final round, thus forcing Halifax to win both games against Clarksville for the state championship.

Halifax won game one12-6, before closing out Clarksville 12-1 in the second game to win the series. The tourney was a double-elimination competition with the winner moving on to the Dixie Debs World Series in Hopkins County, Texas on Saturday.
