Cole commendable in state tournament

SoVaNow.com / October 30, 2013

Anna Carole Cole enjoyed a very commendable showing in state golf action in Richmond.

Playing in state tournament action at the Jefferson Lakeside CC, the Comet golfer recorded rounds of 98 the first day and 93 on the second day. That placed her with a two-day total of 191, tied for 32nd in the state, according to Comet coach David Graham. 50 girls participated in the competition.

Graham said this was a terrific learning experience for Cole, who shot better in second round action. She is expected back next year for her senior season at HCHS.

Cole showed improvement across the board in her game the second day, including chipping and putting. He expressed pride in Cole’s efforts against a higher level of competition, he said.
