Comet boys finish 28th in state 5A track competition; Slayton, Waller earn points / June 04, 2018
The Halifax County High School boys’ track team finished 28th in the state 5 A meet in Newport News over the weekend, scoring six points.

Otis Slayton finished sixth in the long jump, with an effort of 22.06.25.

Slayton was eighth in the triple jump, leaping 44-10.75.

Jaden Waller finished seventh in the high jump, with an effort of 6-02.00.

The girls did not place in the state meet.
