Comet girls score first win / March 21, 2019
The Halifax County High School girls’ varsity soccer team earned its first win of the season Tuesday over Tunstall, 2-1.

Halifax scored its first goal with about 18 minutes elapsed. Summer Lacks got the score.

The teams battled back and forth and Tunstall forced a 1-1 tie moving towards halftime.

Mandy Lewis later provided the game-winning goal for the Comets in the second half.

Halifax had some 40 shots on goal, and keeper Mandy Lewis had ten saves.

Halifax returns to action tomorrow night at Martinsville.
