Comet indoor track has noteworthy performances

Halifax County High School girls and boys track produced several noteworthy performances at the Mid-Area Track classic in Lynchburg Friday.

Tyrika Lee placed second in the 300 meter dash for the girls, in 44.14. E’Lisha Lee was fifth in the same event in 44.65. The Comet 4x200 meter relay team was third in that event in 1.50.03.

Lee took second in the 55 meters in 7.40. Trinity Williams tookd sixth in the 55 meter hurdles in 10.15. Lee was seventh in the high jump with a leap of 4-06.00.

The boys’ team also had some strong performances.

Devan Richardson was second in the 55-meter dash in 6.76 and Roland Brandon was fourth in that event in 6.79. Brandon was fifth in the 55 meter hurdles in 8.28.

Richardson placed fourth in the triple in 40-08 and Brandon fifth in 40-07. William Brooks was third in the 300 meter dash finals in 37.40. The boys 4x200 meter relay was third in 1.35.38. Brooks was fifth in the 500 meter dash in 1:11.47.
