Comet jayvees open with big win / November 30, 2017
The Halifax County High School jayvee boys basketball routed Prince Edward Monday in the season opener, 63-21.

Eight Comets contributed to the scoring, led by Kevon Ferrell with 14 points and Osiris Ross with 11. Keyshawn Wells had nine and Zy’liek Perkins scored eight. Tucker Harris and Jhamad Lawson scored six apiece and William Davis scored five.

Devon Jennings had four.

Halifax bolted to a 21-2 lead in the first period and had complete control by halftime. The Comets had a strong third period, scoring 15 points.

Prince Edward was limited to nine field goals, including one trey.

K. Ferrell provided a real lift in the first half, scoring 11 points and Ross had seven as the Comets breezed to the opening night win.
