Halifax County High School varsity volleyball lost in three sets on the road against Appomattox Tuesday.

The home club defeated Halifax 25-19, 25-12 and 25-6.

Halifax did not play well against a very good team, according to head coach Meg Bane.

Madison Barnes had eight good serves and one ace. Trinity Martin had seven good serves.

Barnes had two blocks.

M. Barnes, T. Martin, and Kirsten Wellons had four attacks.

Kendall Foushee had 20 sets and M. Barnes had 19.

Sarah Watts and Kirsten Wellons had one block.

In the first game the Comet jayvees fell to Appomattox, 2-0, in the Tuesday season opener on the road.

Appomattox prevailed, 25-20 and 25-15.

Arissa Conner had four points serving in the non-district action. Ashlyn Strickland had three aces. Shamya Hankins, Strickland, Tessy Henderson, and Greyson Terry had one kill apiece.

Henderson had one solo block.

Jadyn Harlow had three digs.
