Comet tennis early season success continues / March 22, 2018
Halifax County High School boys tennis continues to post impressive early season results, including a 9-0 shutout of Randolph-Henry Monday on the road.

“The guys came out ready to play once again today. We did have a few more unforced errors than we had last Friday against Randolph-Henry, but it was another strong outing for the team. They are beginning to get a better feel for when to hit certain shots, and the serves are beginning to come around as well,” said coach David Riddle.

“With a strong start like this we keep reinforcing to the guys the need to keep playing at a high level. We don’t want to feel too comfortable with the successful outings and let our guard down. Randolph-Henry for example was much improved from last year.

“We had some very good matches with them over the past few days. We know that a lot of the teams that we are about to go up against have a good chunk of their ladders from last year returning.

“We need to be prepared to challenged each time we step on the court. And so far the guys are doing that. They are working hard in both practice and the matches,” said Riddle.

Halifax is now 3-0.
