Comets down Magna Vista, Prince Edward

The Halifax County High School varsity boys basketball team earned two wins to end last week, downing Piedmont District opponent Magna Vista on Friday in Halifax 78-54 and non-district Prince Edward in Farmville on Wednesday 64-32.

Halifax is now 13-0, 5-0 Piedmont District.

Against Magna Vista Kameron Roberts posted a game-high 23 points. Roberts’ teammate Keshawn Wells also lit up the nets posting 20 points – Wells had four treys.

Halifax paced the first period of play 13-7. Wells led the opening period with five-points.

The Comets offense continued their dominance in the second outscoring the visitors 27-10. Wells hit for 10-points; Jaden Waller added seven for the 40-17 halftime score.

Magna Vista made a push in the third period posting 20 points, yet was unable to stop a potent Comet’s offense. Halifax closed out the game with a 22-point third and a 16-point final period.

Magna Vista posted 14 pints to close out their offense. Waller and Kevon Ferrell each had double-digits on the night scoring 14 and 10 pints, respectively.

In Wednesday’s game against Prince Edward the Comets picked up the 64-32 win.
