Comets face Western Albemarle Friday in Region 4D

SoVaNow.com / November 11, 2021

The Halifax County High School football team begins regional play Friday on the road at Western Albemarle.

The Comets, seeded six in the Region 4D tournament, face no. 3 Western Albemarle High School.

Western Albemarle, part of the Jefferson District, was a Class 3 school before the VHSL’s latest district and region realignments where the school requested a move to Class 4. WA finished its season at 9-1.

The Comets should stack up well against WA on both sides of the ball. With a solid finish to the regular season – a 55-0 win over Tunstall last week – and several players returning from the injury list for practice this week, Halifax can be a strong contender in this game.

“Practices has been good this week and players continue on the mend from injuries,” Senseney said. “This will be a good game.”

Senseney said in order to win this type of game this deep into the season a will to win, staying focused and executing the team’s game plan at every turn is a must.

For fans that want to travel to the game, online ticket purchases will be required via TicketSpiket. Tickets are $8 each. Visit http://www.wahswarriors.com, click on Tickets tab and create and account.

Once this step is completed download the TicketSpiket mobile app, type in Western Albemarle and click Buy Tickets. At the stadium gate open the app, select your tickets, validate and enjoy the game.

The game will also be live streamed on nfhsnetwork.com.
