Comets fall in opening round of WVD tournament

The Comet baseball team ran into the hottest squad in the Western Valley District Wednesday in the opening round of the district tournament.

Patrick Henry-Roanoke, which had beaten GW-Danville and then Franklin County on Monday and Tuesday, outlasted Halifax, 14-9.

The Comet baseball team needed GW-Danville to beat Franklin County Wednesday.

If the FCHS Eagles won last night, Halifax’s season is over.

If GW won, FCHS and Halifax would play tomorrow for the final, no. 3 regional seed at stake. That consolation game would be at HCHS.
