Comets fall to Gretna 3-0 / September 09, 2019
Halifax County High School volleyball continues to struggle in early season action.

Gretna shut out the Comets, 3-0, in non-district play Wednesday at the Comet gym.

Halifax fell in three sets, 25-16, 25-18, and 25-19.

“We played better and as a unit we are growing. The stats and the movement on the court show the growth. We are working on moving as a unit on the court. I am proud of their hard work, and I am more excited to see it all come together,” said coach Meg Bane.

Kendall Fouchee had nine good serves with one ace and five service points. Madison Barnes had 11 good serves with two aces and six service points.

As for the attack numbers, Madison Barnes had five attempts with two kills.

Trinity Martin had six attempts with three kills. Kirsten Wellons had six attempts with two kills.

Setting wise, Halifax had respectable numbers. Kendall Fouchee had 16 good sets and five assists. Madison Barnes had 17 good sets and three assists. Sarah Watts, Madison Barnes, and Trinity Martin each had a block.
