Comets have positive cross country meet at Patrick County

SoVaNow.com / October 05, 2017
Halifax County High School had a very positive meet finish in Piedmont cross country action, with the boys taking third and the girls fourth in a district regular season test at Patrick County Tuesday.

Running in Stuart, the Comet boys had 98 points. Franklin County and Bassett finished 1-2. The Comet girls were fourth, with 90 points. The Franklin County girls won the meet.

“As a team, this was one of our best meets of the year. We had the entire district there, which hasn’t happened every time. For the guys to have a solid third place and for the girls to have one of their strongest efforts of the year as well shows the work that they are putting in,” said coach David Riddle.

“We saw a few PR’s out there today. We have talked about all season how we expect to see more of those as we get into October. The improvement is there across the board,” said Riddle.
